Pinellas County Circuit Clerk, Ken Burke, Addresses the Mid-County Bar Association

Belleair, FL, May 06, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Pinellas County Circuit Clerk, Ken Burke addressed the Mid-County Bar Association on Thurs., April 25, 2013 about Florida’s recent switch to electronic filing. Burke, along with his general counsel, Myriam Irizarry, thoroughly explained the electronic filing process to a well-accepted audience of over 20 Pinellas County attorneys at the Belleview Biltmore Golf Club.

The Florida Courts System has been working on the switch to electronic filing of court documents for years. On April 1, 2013, the e-filing portal was opened for filers to begin sending their electronic documents to the courts.

“We believe the switch to e-filing will reduce the amount of paper, money, and time used between the attorneys and the courts,” said Burke.

The e-filing system is also believed to be more convenient and accessible for all users involved.

“I support the state of Florida’s decision to switch to the electronic filing of court documents. The courts have worked long and hard to reach this decision, and I applaud their efforts,” said Jim Dodson, a Clearwater personal injury attorney.

The Mid-County Bar Association meets every 4th Thursday of the month at the Belleview Biltmore Golf Club. For more information about becoming a member, please email Kati Jones at kati@jwdodsonlaw.com or call (727) 446-0840.
