Annual Run to Benefit HeartShare and the Breezy Point CoOp

Run...Rebuild...Revive

Brooklyn, NY, May 08, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The 33rd Annual Buckley’s – Kennedy’s 5K Charity Run will take place at 10 am on Sunday, May 19. This year’s theme is Run…Rebuild…Revive and all proceeds from the Run will benefit HeartShare Human Services of New York and the Breezy Point CoOp.

It has been more than six months since Superstorm Sandy hit New York and totally destroyed 350 homes and damaged hundreds more in the Breezy Point community. Proceeds from this event will help the community rebuild their homes and neighborhood. HeartShare provides vital services for children and adults with autism spectrum disorders and other developmental disabilities, as well as foster care and adoption services, family counseling, HIV/AIDS services, and after-school programs.

The Run is always dedicated to the memory of loved ones who recently have passed away. This year’s Run is dedicated to the memory of Beth Strehle, Elizabeth Buckley, Mary Williams, and John Kane.

The Run course is still being finalized as much of Breezy Point is still recovering from Superstorm Sandy but it will end at the Breezy Point Ball Field where a Family Fun Day Picnic will be held. It will feature live entertainment by the high-energy dance band, Head Over Heels, and DJ Suds, along with food and drinks, games and rides. The Picnic, open to the general public, is free to runners and children 12 and under. For those 13 and older, the cost is $10 per person. The Run begins at 10 am and the Picnic begins at 11:00 am.
