Jim Dodson Supports National Bike to School Day

Clearwater, FL, May 08, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The National Center for Safe Routes to School (SRTS), in partnership with the League of American Bicyclists’ (LAB), are asking for your participation in the 2nd annual National Bike to School Day. National Bike to School Day will be held on Wed., May 8, 2013, and was created to educate youth on bicycle safety laws, while enjoying bicycling to school with their parents. Jim Dodson Law applauds their efforts in creating the bike safety event.

The one-day event will be hosted by All Children’s Hospital and will be celebrated at the following elementary schools: Cypress Woods, Skycrest, Holy Family, Pinellas Central, and Campbell Park Elementary. National Bike to School Day will be followed by National Bike to Work Week, which is May 13-17, 2013. While National Bike Week is held in May, Florida has dedicated a whole month to cyclists by celebrating Florida Bike Month in March.

“On May 8th, thousands of children across the country will ditch the car, grab a bike, and pedal to school. Remember to use your brains and wear a helmet because you don’t want to be another statistic! Built off the popular International Walk to School Day, which is held on the first Wednesday of October, Bike to School Day inspires students to receive an out-of-the-car experience while walking or biking safely to school,” said Tiffany Sabiel of All Children’s Hospital.

“This is a great way for school age bicyclists to learn safe riding habits. We should all get behind this event,” said Jim Dodson, a devoted cyclist and bicycle safety advocate.
