USA-Made Gift Retailer rosieMADE Sponsors Boise Women’s Show

Boise, ID, May 14, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Meridian-based rosieMADE, an online retailer of gifts made by women in the USA, was one of the sponsors of The Idaho Women’s Journal inaugural I Will Journey interactive women’s show. RosieMADE founder and CEO Alicia Vanderschuere served on the show’s planning committee and the event brought nearly 75 vendors and 23 speakers to the Boise Centre on Saturday, May 11.

Vanderschuere led a workshop on making gift giving special, easy and affordable. During the workshop, Vanderschuere gave tips on corporate gift giving, creative wrapping, budgeting and organizing gift giving.

The I Will Journey women’s show included 23 other workshops on topics ranging from self-publishing to health and fitness to marketing and leadership. Every booth at the show was interactive, meaning event goers could play games, demo products and participate in contests and surveys, as well as shop at the vendor booths. At the rosieMADE booth, visitors played Plinko for prizes and could purchase some of rosieMADE’s top-selling products, including hand-made stained glass jewelry, organic cotton T-shirts, lavender botanicals, organic tea and rosieMADE private label, organic chocolate created by Boise-based Dream Chocolate.

The purpose of the I Will Journey interactive women’s show was in line with rosieMADE’s mission of empowering women through commerce and community. Guests who stopped by the rosieMADE booth were invited to sign a “Lifting up Women” pledge to help women in business, each in their own special ways. Pledges included:
“I will refer business to other women business owners.”
“I pledge to support my fellow women with support, advice and business.”
“I pledge to inspire and mentor young women.”
“I pledge to buy Made In The USA products.”

I Will Journey was promoted through social media and the event committee’s street team. The event attracted women from all over the Treasure Valley, including Idaho Women’s Journal readers, business owners, and Saturday Market patrons. I Will Journey benefited the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, and many women came to the show in pink attire, straight from the race, which also took place that morning.
