CAI Announces June 2013 Training Seminars and Development Programs in Raleigh


Local HR Management Firm Offers Comprehensive Training Courses for Triangle Business Professionals

-“Fundamentals of Supervision Certification Program” is a two-day program designed to help first-time supervisors and managers establish a strong foundation for supervisory success. During the course, attendees will learn how to define their roles as supervisors, delegate tasks and effectively deliver messages to varying communication styles. Additionally, attendees will discover how to apply a model to successfully manage conflict and identify strategies to motivate employees. -“Essentials of HR Certification Program” is a three-day course in which participants will discover the fundamental regulatory and compliance knowledge needed to establish a solid human resources foundation. During the course, participants will learn to communicate performance standards and expectations, develop harassment and discrimination policies, and understand key legislation affecting employee rights. -“Stepping Up to Supervision Certification Program” is a two-day program designed to provide non-supervisors with the management and leadership skills needed to succeed in a future supervisory role. -“Accounting and Finance for Non-Financial Managers” is a full-day program during which attendees will gain a better understanding of the need-to-know information regarding their organizations’ financial performance. Through practical exercises, attendees will ascertain how basic finance and accounting procedures impact business as well as how to use this information to make better business decisions. -“Ask the Expert – Keep up with I-9 Compliance: The new I-9 Form and North Carolina’s E-Verify Law” is a free, CAI members-only program led by Bernhard Mueller, attorney with Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart P.C. During the course, attendees will learn about the new two-page I-9 form and discuss any resulting changes to the I-9 verification process. Additionally, the course will detail some of the more unique compliance challenges that employers face, such as dealing with remote employees, foreign students with work permits, foreign nationals sponsored for visas, refugees and more. As most North Carolina companies are now required to use the federal E-verify system, course participants will review the current trends in E-verify compliance enforcements and best practices for facing government scrutiny. Part of CAI’s “Ask the Expert Series,” the course is built to be interactive and all participants are encouraged to bring forth relevant questions regarding their organizations. -“Fundamentals of Management Certification Program” is a two-day interactive program designed to help managers master the key competencies associated with effective leadership: leadership vision, values and character, communication, coaching and credibility. By the end of the course, participants will be able to develop a personalized leadership action plan, eliminate filters that hinder effective communication, develop strategies for improving coaching skills, and define levels of individual credibility.
