Next Intent Invests in New 5-Axis CNC Machining Center

San Luis Obispo, CA, May 24, 2013 --(PR.com)-- With the increasing volume of customer work that requires 5-axis machining, Next Intent has invested in a new OKK VC-X350 machining center to augment the 6 other OKK machine tools already in place. The additional capacity enables Next Intent to provide quicker turnaround and hold close tolerances for Aerospace, Aircraft and Defense industry projects.

“The complexity of parts produced by Next Intent increasingly requires 5-axis machining which enables five sides of an intricate design to be machined in one operation and can be crucial for meeting close tolerance specifications,” stated Rodney Babcock, President of Next Intent. “The OKK VC-X350 5-axis machining center is a new addition to the OKK product line and provides the flexibility and features we need to meet the delivery demands of our customers. We already have the business to keep this new machine working a full shift. We have the highest regard for the quality and reliability built into all of our OKK machine tools.”

The equipment was installed in February at the San Luis Obispo facility. A number of large CNC machines were moved around the shop to allow for placement in the most productive location. View the time elapse video to see the effort involved.

“TMG and OKK have had a long lasting business relationship with Next Intent,” said Mark Luoni, Regional Manager for TMG Limited, OKK distributor for this area. “It is customers like Next Intent that drive the machine tool industry forward. Next Intent is in a very rare category of machined parts manufacturers, with the capability of producing parts for cutting edge aerospace customers which are so exact that few others will even attempt the work.”

Next Intent is always seeking new, experienced CNC machine tool operators and technicians. The addition of this equipment will increase that demand as we increase capacity and our capabilities to serve our target markets. The combination of highly skilled and experienced machinists with industry renowned OKK quality and accuracy help keep Next Intent on the leading edge of manufacturing.
