Evan Guthrie of the Evan Guthrie Law Firm in Charleston, South Carolina spoke to students at Northwoods Middle School about lawyers and the legal profession on Tuesday March 5, 2013 in North Charleston, SC.

Charleston, SC, May 29, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Evan Guthrie of the Evan Guthrie Law Firm in Charleston, South Carolina spoke to students at Northwoods Middle School about lawyers and the legal profession on Tuesday March 5, 2013 in North Charleston, SC. Attorney Guthrie spoke to three different groups of students in the cafeteria of Northwoods Middle. Each group contained about three to four different classes of students. Mr, Guthrie spoke on different subjects including his personal background, the importance of doing well in middle school and how it affects performance in high school and college, the most important skills to develop as a professional, life as a lawyer and what a typical day or week is like, how the legal profession works, his biggest challenges and favorite parts about his career, and what the students should be doing in middle school to prepare them for a career and the real world. The students had numerous questions that ranged from the obligatory how much money does a lawyer make to more quality questions such as the moral dilemma s that sometime face lawyers when representing clients and was all the school that it took to become a lawyer worth it.

This is the first time that Attorney Guthrie had visited Northwoods Middle School. Mr. Guthrie had visited the location before when it was the former Stall High School for sporting events as a high school student. Attorney Guthrie was happy to speak to so many students in such a short amount of time. Mr. Guthrie had about a half hour to speak to each group of students and was able fill the entire time with the students wanting to ask additional questions before they had to leave and resume their regular class schedule. Attorney Guthrie asked each group of students whether they had an interest in the legal profession. There were several hands raised in each group. Mr. Guthrie felt honored to speak to those students that had an interest in a law career because they may have been inspired further, but also the students that may not have had an interest because hopefully those students learned more about the profession than they previously knew. Attorney Guthrie looks forward to returning to Northwoods Middle in the future to speak again.
