Weather2 Wins Backing from Scottish Enterprise

Weather2, a private Glasgow-based Weather Company, has won backing from Scottish Enterprise under its Business Gateway Growth Programme.

Glasgow, United Kingdom, May 30, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Weather2 have been classed as a firm having high growth potential by the programme. Scottish Enterprise states “the majority of high growth firms share the characteristics of being knowledge-intensive, highly innovative and customer focused.”

The Business Gateway Growth Programme offers a network of support which includes access to expertise, a framework of products, and grant funding to help businesses expand. Only businesses deemed to have potential for high growth are accepted onto the programme.

Scottish Enterprise believe that increasing the number of high growth firms in Scotland by 25% over the next 10 years could generate more than 100,000 jobs.

Previous beneficiaries of Scottish Enterprise schemes include the Ice-cream brand Mackies - who they helped diversify into producing and marketing crisps - and the craft beer manufacturer Brew Dog.

Weather2 Production director John Armstrong said:

“We are delighted to have been accepted onto this programme and are confident that the involvement of The Business Gateway and Scottish Enterprise will help take our business onto the next level.”
