)-- Doctor's Best has introduced Best Natto-Serra into its dietary supplement line. Scott Steinford, President of Doctor's Best, made the announcement. This product is available in 90 vegetarian capsules, each providing 40,000 serratiopeptidase activity units and 2,000 fibrinolytic activity units of enzyme potency.
Best Natto-Serra is a state of the art combination of two naturally occurring proteolytic enzymes that have many years of research behind them: Nattokinase & Serrapeptase. In the 1980s, researchers who examined 173 kinds of natural foods in an attempt to find a suitable protease enzyme to support circulatory health discovered nattokinase in the traditional fermented Japanese soy food “natto.” Serrapeptase was first isolated from the non-pathogenic Serratia bacteria species strain E15 by Japanese researchers in 1966. The serrapeptase in this formulation is in a matrix with SerratericTM, a superior alternative to enteric coating. SerratericTM protects the enzyme from inactivation by stomach acid, so that it can retain its activity until it reaches the intestine to become absorbed.
Proteolytic enzymes break down proteins; nattokinase and serrapeptase both have their own proteolyic advantages towards human physiology. Serrapeptase can interact with proteins secreted by mucous membranes, affecting properties such as viscosity, which in turn can promote healthy sinus and respiratory function. Nattokinase research suggests support for the cardiovascular system, particularly towards circulatory healthy.
