)-- Laboratory Testing Inc. (LTI) has renewed and expanded its A2LA accreditations with The American Association for Laboratory Accreditation. LTI holds A2LA accreditation certificates for calibration services and material testing services including mechanical testing (with metallographic evaluation and dimensional inspection) and chemical testing. Laboratory Testing Inc. recently underwent a routine renewal audit by A2LA and was awarded new accreditation certificates that are valid to March 31, 2015.
This most recent A2LA renewal includes the addition of Scanning Electron Microscopy with Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (SEM/EDS) under the Mechanical Testing umbrella and a number of new calibration services performed by LTI Metrology, the calibration and dimensional inspection division of Laboratory Testing Inc. The additions to the scope of calibration include:
Micrometer Set Masters
Brinell Hardness Testers
Microhardness Testers (Knoop and Vickers)
Infrared Temperature Gages
The accreditation certificates provided by A2LA state that LTI is accredited in accordance with the recognized International Standard ISO/IEC 17025:2005 (General Requirements for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories). Therefore, LTI meets the requirements of industry and international standards which state that laboratories shall be accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 by a recognized accreditation body.
