San Francisco Bath Salt Company Applauds DEA’s Ban on Drugs Sold as Bath Salts

The U.S. ban on "bath salt" drugs soon taking effect will be a relief for suppliers and retailers of true bath salts everywhere.

Union City, CA, June 08, 2013 --(PR.com)-- As reported by WebMD Health News, dangerous designer drugs masked under the name of “bath salts” will soon be illegal to sell or possess in the United States. This ban will take effect on October 8th, and though it’s a temporary ban lasting for twelve months (possibly longer upon an approved extension), it will allow the Department of Health and Human Services time to work towards a permanent law which bans these drugs. San Francisco Bath Salt Company, a trusted supplier of authentic bath salts, is pleased with this announcement.

“We fully support the DEA’s decision to place a temporary emergency ban on the ‘bath salt’ drugs," says Lee Williamson founder of San Francisco Bath Salt Company.” This news can hopefully offer retailers and major suppliers of legitimate bath salt, like the San Francisco Bath Salt Company, a sigh of relief knowing that these harmful drugs which have been a cause for confusion among the public recently are nearing a country wide ban. Within this ban, are the following drugs which have been classified Schedule I substances (the most restricted category of drugs):

Mephedrone (methylmethcathinone, also known as M-Cat, Meow, 4-MMC, or Bubbles)
Methylone (methylenedioxymethcathinone, also known as bk-MDMA, M1, or Explosion)
Methylenedioxypyrovalerone (MDPV, also known as NRG-1)

“Our company has always supplied only true bath salts to enhance the bathing experience - never any products that could be misused or taken to product a high – and we will continue to provide the highest quality, safest bath salts made with natural sea salt available,” says Williamson, “However, with all the recent news headlines stating the dangers of using 'bath salts,' which incidentally couldn’t be further from what their name implies, we welcome this ban for the public’s safety. We hope that any stigma associated with actual bath salts will taper off in light of the these ‘bath salts’ being called out for what they truly are: drugs, as officials seek to make them permanently illegal.”
