Oaks, PA, August 24, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Instructors and students from Cortiva Institute - Pennsylvania School of Muscle Therapy (www.cortiva.com/psmt) will accompany Los Angeles Riptide (www.lariptide.com) to the Lacrosse League Championship (www.majorleaguelacrosse.com) on August 25-26 to supply the team with pre- and post-game sports massage therapy. The Championship will be televised live on ESPN from PAETEC Park in Rochester, New York and re-broadcast on ESPN-2.

Cortiva Institute Instructor and sports massage specialist Tracy Pellechio will evaluate the Los Angeles Riptide players with six of her students, then provide stretching and sports massage before the event to prepare the team. When Riptide players experience any injuries during the semifinals on Saturday or in Sunday's Championship game, Ms. Pellechio will demonstrate to students how to work quickly and effectively on the injury. Cortiva is also making its pre- and post-game sports massages available to the other three teams competing in the semifinals.

"This is an incredible educational opportunity for Cortiva students," says Ms. Pellechio. "They will see a player's musculature as I show them how to handle trouble areas -- I'll be working on injuries from the sidelines during the game."

Los Angeles Riptide player DJ Driscoll recently suffered from a whiplash injury and agreed to attend Ms. Pellechio's class as a model for her students' benefit. She performed different procedures, applying trigger points to Mr. Driscoll's shoulder and neck, demonstrating myofascial release technique as well as lymph drainage. "Then he went and played one of the best games of his life," says Ms. Pellechio, who shortly afterwards was offered the chance to bring Cortiva Institute's expertise to the Major Lacrosse League Championship. The fieldwork component of Cortiva Institute's curriculum continues to attract students from all over the country.

The first semifinal game on August 25 starts at 2:00 p.m. and the second begins at 5 p.m. at PAETEC Park, an outdoor stadium that holds approximately 13,000 spectators. For more information on the Major Lacrosse League Championship, visit www.paetecpark.com.
