Dave Matthews Band and REVERB Select Food Bank of South Jersey

Pennsauken, NJ, June 16, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Dave Matthews Band and their Promoter REVERB are expanding their Bama Green Project support of farmers to include food banks with a series of concerts in 34 cities across the country. In the Philadelphia area, the Band, and their Promoter REVERB, selected the Food Bank of South Jersey as a partner.

Scheduled for June 28th and June 29th, the two day concert event will take place at the Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden.

To come to the concert, fans are asked to bring a non-perishable food item to donate as they enter. Additional support will come from the Dave Matthews Band self-labeled seed packets which sell for $5.00 each. The proceeds from these seed packets will go to purchase fresh produce from a local farmer. That produce will go to the Food Bank of South Jersey.

With New Jersey’s economic recovery lagging behind the rest of the country, food insecure families in the South Jersey counties of Burlington, Camden, Gloucester and Salem number well over 170,000 according to Feeding America’s latest research. “These are people who are not certain where their next meal will come from - and one in five of them are children,” relates Val Traore, CEO of Food Bank South Jersey. “Our mission is to not only relieve hunger but to create a sustainable way for families to lead a healthier lifestyle. We are thrilled to have been selected to partner with the Dave Matthews Band and REVERB. By working together like this we can accomplish our mutual goals of helping the farmers who grow the food get that healthy fresh produce directly to those most in need of it.”
