Dominic Goodmann Memorial Golf Tournament Raises $20,000 to Benefit Compass to Care Childhood Cancer Foundation

Coldwell Banker Dominic Goodmann Real Estate, Goodmann Appraisal, and Goodmann Insurance along with 20 sponsors, and 72 golfers raised $20,000 to benefit Compass to Care Childhood Cancer Foundation at the annual Dominic Goodmann Memorial Golf Tournament held on June 17, 2013 at Thunder Hills Golf and Country Club in Peosta, Iowa.

Dubuque, IA, June 24, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The mission of Compass to Care is to ensure families can access life-saving cancer treatment for their children, regardless of their financial situation. Compass to Care carries out this mission by scheduling and paying for all travel necessities to get children from their homes to the hospital for treatment. Since its 2010 inception, the organization has supported 76 children as they have collectively traveled over 200,000 miles for cancer treatment.

“Goodmann Real Estate, Appraisal, and Insurance is proud to support and raise awareness of the services provided by Compass to Care for children and families facing childhood cancer,” said Jane O’Neill President of Goodmann Real Estate. “These are tough times for families whose children are facing cancer, including many in the Tri-State area. We are honored to help Compass to Care as they relieve one of the stresses these families are facing as they seek a cure for their children.”

“We are so grateful to have been chosen by the Goodmann family as the beneficiary of the tournament that honors of their late father, Dominic, and for the support we have received from the Dubuque community via their sponsorships, tournament participation, and donations,” commented Michelle Ernsdorff, Compass to Care Founder. “$20,000 will go such a long way as we help children fight cancer, while alleviating the worries their parents have about affording travel costs. We could not be more appreciative of all those who made this possible.”

First flight tournament winners, with a score of 61-67, included Amy Breitfelder, Chris Goodmann, Dan Goodmann, and Jane O’Neill. Second flight tournament winners, with a score of 68 and higher, included Phil Keating, Gary Lapidus, Adam Miller, and Bob Wren.
