East Texas Spa Publishes Guide for Men’s Health Month

East Texas Spa, a New and Used Hot Tub and Spa Dealer Serving Shreveport Louisiana Releases Men’s Health Guide – Top Three Methods for Getting on Track for a Healthier Lifestyle. Offers Free Spa Test Soaks

Shreveport, LA, June 28, 2013 --(PR.com)-- East Texas Spa, a new and used hot tub dealer with stores in Tyler and Longview, TX is participating in Physical Fitness Month by providing free hot tub test soaks in both their East Texas showrooms to help teach the public on how to deal with daily stress.

“Making changes in the way we live can be difficult. Too often, people try to make massive changes and even when those changes are good ones, they are hard to keep up,” said Randall Glaske, president of East Texas Spa. “Even the smallest of changes can begin to reverse adverse health problems right from the start,” continued Glaske. Here are the top three methods for quickly starting a healthier lifestyle:

Attractive Eating Habits - Most men understand that proper eating habits are an important part of developing a healthier lifestyle. This, however, is one of the most often failed attempts and lifestyle changes due to being overly strict than any other. One of the ways to make eating healthier more enjoyable, and increase the likelihood that it will stick, is to make eating fun. Make each plate as attractive as possible. Include lots of colors. Doing that also increases the likelihood of consuming more fruits and vegetables which leads to a better diet, and reducing the carbs and fats so often leading to weight problems and disease.

Get More Sleep - Almost anyone can attest to the fact that not getting enough sleep leaves them feeling dull and unmotivated the next day. Not getting enough sleep has a much greater impact on overall health than just feeling lackluster though. Studies published in the New York Times show a serious link between sleep deprivation and the body’s ability to produce the hormones melatonin and leptin that can lead to depression, heart disease, obesity and increased stress.

Lack of sleep isn’t just an issue of not getting enough hours of sleep per day; it can also be attributed to lopsided schedules. Sleeping during the day and working at night is difficult for the body to deal with since the body’s production of melatonin is related to sunlight. No amount of unnatural lighting can compensate for daylight.

The cure is to make sure to get at least 7 to 8 hours of solid sleep time per day, and also attempt to regulate sleeping hours to nighttime. It may be fun to be a night owl, but it isn’t necessarily healthy. For men who have to work at night, it is even more difficult to find sleep hours that are compatible to good health. This issue is so serious that it even has a name; it is called shift work sleep disorder. If there is no way to switch work schedules, a consultation with a sleep disorder specialist may be necessary to ensure proper exposure to the correct type of UV light in controlled situations in order to get the proper hormone production.

Unwind and Reduce Stress - Stress is one of those areas a lot of men don’t even recognize as a health issue. It’s harder to spot than weight, eating habits or even sleep deprivation, but it is a real health risk. Getting rid of stress doesn’t have to be difficult, and is one of the more enjoyable ways of making life healthier. The easiest and most fun way of attacking the stress problem is to soak in a hot tub. The warm water and soothing jet action provides a quick way to relax by increasing buoyancy and taking the strain off of tired joints and muscles. The heat also dilates blood vessels for better flow so blood can get to damaged muscles or tired organs quickly and rejuvenate them.

“We think this is a great opportunity to actually show local residents the positive effects that soaking in a hot tub spa can have in terms of improving the overall quality of their lives. That’s why we will provide free hot tub test soaks in both of our East Texas locations throughout the entire month,” said Chris Ogden, Longview Branch Manager. “We want residents to check out all the benefits of a relaxing in hot tub for themselves.”
