“Demystifying Security Clearances” Class from the Government Contracting Institute

The July 9, 2013 the Government Contracting Institute class provides attendees with the necessary information about security clearances to see success in the federal marketplace.

Baltimore, MD, July 04, 2013 --(PR.com)-- “Demystifying Security Clearances,” the next course in the Government Contracting Institute, sponsored by bwtech@UMBC and TargetGov, aims to help attendees understand the essentials about facility and personnel security clearances in the federal marketplace. The course will take place on July 9, 2013 and last from 8:30 am through 4:00 pm ET. Breakfast and lunch will be included. Visit www.GovernmentContractingInstitute.com for more information.

Both Facility Security Clearances (FCL) and Personnel Security Programs (PCP) will be discussed during the course, with topics that define what these different clearance levels are and how to obtain them. The class will also outline the financial impact these clearances can have on a company, the forms necessary to complete, types of investigations, polygraph tests, and consequences.

Instructing the course is Diane Griffin, Founder and CEO of Security First & Associates, who has over twenty years of experience in Defense and Intelligence communities and Bill Loveridge, a Facility Security Officer (FSO) for a government contracting firm and independent security consultant, who is responsible for all aspects of security.

Mrs. Griffin has teamed with other consultants to provide security support to small and midsize defense contractors. She is a published author and writer of security articles, further highlighting her abilities as a subject-matter expert.

Mr. Loveridge previously worked as a civilian for the Department of the Army at the Army Central Clearance Facility (CCF) as a personnel security specialist. He retired as the senior adjudicator/manager in the CCF with thirty six years of federal service.

Security clearances can affect a multitude of contracting areas, and in order to be successful in certain contracting areas, they must be something companies are familiar with and able to obtain. This course will empower attendees to handle this tricky issue effectively and quickly.
