Jones Valley Resort Works with Local Services to Enhance Future Employee Education

Redding, CA, July 03, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Jones Valley Resort, a houseboat rental and full service marina on Shasta Lake, used the resources of SMART, EDD, Shasta Twenty-first Century Career Connections, and Newport Consultants to reach out to existing and future employees and educate local teachers on valuable employment skills and job opportunities.

In April 2013, Jones Valley participated in the job fair held in Anderson, CA. With the collaboration of SMART and EDD, this proved to be a very beneficial event for future-employees and employers alike. The following month, the Jones Valley Resort staff met with Newport Consultants for a full day training session to discuss guest expectations and design a plan of enhanced customer service.

In June, 2013, Jones Valley Resort was honored to participate in the job-shadowing program facilitated by Shasta Twenty-first Century Career Connections (STC). “This was a continuing effort to enhance the quality of future employees. We worked with STC’s educators/teachers on the various skills to focus on in the classroom to create a more valuable workforce, not only for our business, but for others on Shasta Lake and in the local recreation industry,” explained Rich Howe, General Manager of Jones Valley Resort. The Program goal is to provide an opportunity for educators to explore the workplace and enrich their classroom curriculum by showing students the relevance and application of their curriculum standards.
