Eastern National Publishes "American Indians and the Civil War: Official National Park Service Handbook"

Fort Washington, PA, July 13, 2013 --(PR.com)-- A new publication, "American Indians and the Civil War: Official National Park Service Handbook," has been published by Eastern National. A collection of essays by noted scholars and historians, this book details the Native American contributions to the American Civil War, and the effects of the war on Native American peoples.

Created through a unique partnership between the National Park Service, the Bureau of Indian Affairs, the Bureau of Indian Education, the American Indian Alaskan Native Tourism Association, and Eastern National, this publication is the first of its kind to explore the Native American perspective. It adds tribal voices to another chapter of American history, and encourages people to embrace the American Indian perspective into the context of America’s past, present and future.

“We were thrilled to be a part of this unique publication,” said George Minnucci, Chief Executive Officer of Eastern National. “The significant perspective of Native Americans sheds new light on the Civil War, and illustrates the importance of the inclusion of Native American interpretation.”

"American Indians and the Civil War: Official National Park Service Handbook" is soft cover, 216 pages, and is available now for $9.95 on www.eParks.com.
