Wisecast TV Launches "the Oceanographic," and Highlights the Roddenberry Dive Team on the First Day of Comic-Con

WMC adds The Oceanographic Channel to the Wisecast Television lineup, offering oceanography enthusiasts, salvage experts and underwater explorers a way to connect with viewers. Wisecast celebrates this launch by showcasing videos from the Roddenberry Dive Team and celebrating the ocean during a special Kelp Tank Dive Show with Rod Roddenberry, television producer, ocean advocate, passionate diver, and son of Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry.

Atlanta, GA, July 21, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Today Wisecast Television launched an all new XPLORE Channel, “The Oceanographic,” a 24-hour channel dedicated to showcasing the work and purposes of many organizations involved in oceanography and related ventures. The Oceanographic is produced by The Wisemen Multimedia Company and ZEBRA Productions, Inc.

Exclusively broadcast on Wisecast Television (XPLORE channel 123), the Oceanographic Channel, sponsored in part by FedHealth, offers programming about the work and purposes of many organizations involved in oceanography and related ventures, from dives and new technologies to studies of ocean dynamics that help satisfy underwater curiosities and empowers viewers to understand more about the ocean realm.

“Yes, we’re technology innovators and TV pioneers,” said Eric Brown, Chief Executive, Wisemen Multimedia, LLC. “But we care about the environment too. We understand the role the ocean plays and how important it is to life on earth. The Oceanographic channel will be very entertaining, but we’ll use our resources to help raise awareness about ocean life, our shores, and our impact on the environment. We’re delighted to be able to work with organizations like the Roddenberry Dive Team to showcase their work and reach out to viewers who care just as much as we do about our ecosystem.

The Oceanographic launched today on the first day of Comic-Con, showcasing videos from the Roddenberry Dive Team’s previous adventures and promoting Rod Roddenberry’s special kelp tank dive show scheduled to begin today at 12:30 pm, PT in the Birch Aquarium’s two-story, 70,000-gallon kelp forest tank in Scripp's Institution of Oceanography, La Jolla, CA, where Rod will explore this crucial ocean ecosystem and dive with leopard sharks, garibaldi, eels, barracuda, giant sea bass, and more. Rod is a television producer, ocean advocate, passionate diver, son of Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry, and founder of the Roddenberry Dive Team.

“We’re all about saving lives,” said Bill Liebsch, CEO, FedHealth “so getting people to take a closer look at the biggest resource we have on the planet that sustains life is a natural fit for us, and we’re excited about helping give viewers a first look into depths that haven’t been explored and ways for them to take action and doing their part to save the planet.”
