Grandell Rehab and Nursing Center Takes Extra Precautions to Keep Residents Safe and Sound During the Scorching Summer Months

Long Beach, NY, July 25, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Grandell Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, one of the premier care centers and rehab facilities in Nassau County, New York, would like to extend it’s best wishes to the community as families gather for outdoor summer activity.

During the month of July, which is UV Safety Month, Grandell would like to spread the word about simple steps you can take to keep your family, happy, healthy and sunburn free. Studies show that sunburns have a direct relationship to and increase your risk for developing skin cancer. To help reduce chances of sun burn or sun poisoning, reduce sun exposure during the hours of 10 am and 4 pm. These hours are designated as being the highest for UV exposure during the day. Wear protective clothing and headwear to protect your body, and sun glasses to protect your eyes. Also recommended is sunscreen with a SPF value of at least 15. Utilizing these measures is proven to reduce sun-induced skin ailments and allows you to enjoy a more comfortable and safe summer vacation.

“Grandell is happy to participate in UV Safety Month this July and spread the word about the risks of UV exposure. The summer has arrived in full swing and the sun is shining bright. Granted, while we all love to take in the beautiful weather while the sun is shining, we have to remember to protect our skin and eyes from the damaging effects of UV radiation,” said Moishe Heller, administrator at Grandell Rehab and Nursing Center.
