Beach Terrace Care Center Takes Precautions to Safeguard Residents in the Hot Summer Months

Long Beach, NY, July 24, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Beach Terrace Care Center, one of the premier care centers and rehab facilities in Nassau County, New York, would like to extend it’s best wishes to the community as families gather for outdoor summer activity.

The month of July is UV Safety Month, and while families are enjoying the summer sun and departing on vacations to beautiful sun-drenched locales, Beach Terrace Care Center would like to remind everyone of some simple tips to keep you and your family happy and healthy. Wearing proper protective clothing, applying a broad-spectrum sunscreen with a minimum SPF value of 15, and using caution when near reflexive surfaces such as water, snow, and sand will drastically reduce the risk of sun-induced skin illnesses, such as sun burn and skin cancer. The use of wide brimmed hats and sunglasses are also recommended to protect sight on particularly sunny days.

“Beach Terrace is proud and excited to participate in UV safety month to raise awareness about the risks of UV exposure. During the month of July, join us in spreading awareness to our community about the risk of UV damage and skin cancer in hopes of seeing the number of those affected drastically diminish in our lifetime,”said Martin Zwick, administrator of Beach Terrace Care Center.

Recently named one of America's Best Nursing Homes of 2013 by U.S. News & World Report, Beach Terrace Care Center is a 182 bed sub-acute facility, specializing in dedicated treatment options for residents from short term rehabilitation to long term care. Situated on the water in beautiful Long Beach, New York, Beach Terrace provides exceptional and personalized care for each of their residents and works to keep the sun's harmful effects as minimal for their residents as possible, with round-the-clock support ready and available for any situation.
