Enterprising Women Welcomes Two New Members to Advisory Board

María Ivón Abuawad and Lisa Nichols to Serve as Board Members.

Raleigh, NC, July 31, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Monica Smiley, publisher and CEO of Enterprising Women magazine (http://www.enterprisingwomen.com), has appointed María Ivón Abuawad and Lisa Nichols to the Enterprising Women Advisory Board.

Abuawad serves as the general manager and owner of Colorbel, a cosmetic laboratory dedicated to the manufacture of cosmetic products. Abuawad worked for various cosmetic laboratories for five years before deciding to start her own business. Since its founding, Colorbel has expanded from a 5,382-square-foot location to a 21,528-square-foot facility and has grown from two to 40 employees.

Abuawad received the Young Entrepreneur award from Enterprising Women of Chile and in 2010 was chosen by El Mercurio, a Chilean newspaper, as one of 100 Leading Women of the Bicentenary. She served five years as the president of the Chilean Society of Cosmetic Chemists and was a chairwoman of the Circle of Enterprising Women in Chile. In 2012, Abuawad served on the Board of Women for Adolfo Ibáñez University. She now serves as the treasurer of the Chilean Chamber of the Cosmetic Industry.

Lisa Nichols, a graduate of Murray State University in Murray, KY., began her career working in multiple business units at McDonnell Douglas followed by an account executive position at Ceridian. She and her husband, Greg, co-founded a software development company, and have since launched their current business, Technology Partners, Inc. (http://www.technologypartners.net). A women business enterprise IT staffing and solutions firm serving clients nationwide, Technology Partners has become one of the fastest-growing IT firms in St. Louis, Mo.

An avid community volunteer, Nichols enjoys working with youth and has partnered with many nonprofit organizations. She has coordinated fundraisers and book drives, and actively supports organizations such as Junior Achievement, Stages St. Louis and Women of Achievement. She currently sits on the board of trustees for BreakDown St. Louis and is on the executive leadership team for Go Red for Women.
