Research Triangle Park, NC, August 02, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Sally Webb, CSEP, CEO of The Special Event Company (http://www.specialeventco.com), a strategic event and meeting management company, has been named to the Board of Directors for Teen Cancer America (TCA) www.teencanceramerica.org, a registered non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of teenagers and young adults with cancer. TCA partners with hospitals to create youth-oriented centers for teenagers and young adults who are receiving cancer treatment.

The Who is the driving force behind Teen Cancer America. After over a decade working with Teenage Cancer Trust in the UK, Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend decided to bring their passion across the pond and make a difference in the lives of teens and young adults with cancer in the United States. As supporter of Teenage Cancer Trust www.teenagecancertrust.org in the U.K., Webb will serve an integral role in guiding the charity and supporting adolescent and young adult national cancer awareness and education.

Through a strong commitment to TCA, Webb aims to serve on the board with a mission of improving the quality of life for patients through treatment facilities, developing support programs, and raising awareness during treatment and beyond.

Quotes:
“Having worked closely with Teenage Cancer Trust in the U.K., I have seen firsthand the dramatic difference the organization makes in both the quality of life and survival rates of the teenagers and young adults in our units,” said Webb. “I am delighted to join the board in the U.S. to support this very important work.”
