Southeast Enterprises Extends Holiday Light Recycling Drive Sponsorship Deadline

Southeast Enterprises is extending its Holiday Light Recycling Drive sponsorship deadline to September 12, 2013.

Kansas City, MO, August 04, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Southeast Enterprises is extending its deadline to sponsor the 2013-2014 Holiday Light Recycling Drive to Thursday, September 12, giving potential partners more time to go green.

During November 17, 2013, through January 20, 2014, Southeast Enterprises, a local nonprofit sheltered workshop that employs over 160 adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, will partner with over 165 locations throughout the Kansas City area to provide drop-off sites where the public can bring their non-working holiday lights for recycling. Once collected, most of Southeast’s will work to prepare the lights for recycling.

Brent Miller, Director of Marketing for Deffenbaugh, a Kansas City solid waste disposal service, said, “The employment of [Southeast’s] team and diversion of valuable materials from the landfill are very worthy causes, and Deffenbaugh is glad to help.” Last year, the combined efforts of Southeast, sponsors like Deffenbaugh, and concerned citizens throughout the Greater Kansas City Area helped to save over 32,000 pounds of holiday lights from of the landfill and keep Southeast’s employees working throughout the calendar year.
