Big Ride for Kids Weekend Tops $196,000

Motorcyclists in Central Valley, N.Y., Cranberry Township, Pa., and Middleton, Wis. raise money for a cure.

Asheville, NC, August 07, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Motorcyclists in three states did their part to combat childhood brain tumors by bringing $196,407 in donations to Ride for Kids events on Aug. 4.

Fifteen young brain tumor survivors attended the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation events on mild, sunny mornings in Central Valley, N.Y., Cranberry Township, Pa., and Middleton, Wis.

“I want to thank all of these motorcyclists for coming out and supporting me and my family. I love coming here and seeing so many bikes. It’s awesome,” said Zachary, an 8-year-old Star from Pittsburgh.

Making life better for these Ride for Kids Stars is the reason motorcyclists across the country ride for the PBTF, which funds medical research and family support programs to help eliminate the challenges of childhood brain tumors.

The events featured local celebrity emcee appearances, motorcycle parades, catered meals and more.

All three events will continue to collect donations online at www.rideforkids.org. Fundraisers will receive incentive credit through Sept. 4.
