Raleigh, NC, August 08, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The First Tee of the Triangle (http://www.thefirstteetriangle.org/), a nonprofit organization dedicated to impacting the lives of young people by providing educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices through the game of golf, has announced that Amanda Levy has been selected to represent the chapter in the field in the upcoming 2013 Nature Valley First Tee Open, a Champions Tour event, on Tuesday, Sept. 24 through Sunday, Sept. 29 in Pebble Beach, California. A rising senior at Wake Forest High School, Levy is one of 81 youth players and only 27 girls competing in this year’s open.

Since joining the Triangle chapter of The First Tee at its inception in 2004, Levy has grown to be a role model and accomplished golfer, as she finished the end of last year in the top 20 female golfers in North Carolina. Logging more than 1,000 hours with The First Tee of the Triangle, she serves as a mentor to other participants, spokesperson to potential new members and donors, and organizer of fun and educational events with the chapter.

At this year’s event, Levy will be paired with a Champions Tour player as they compete in the 54-hole golf event, which will be televised live on the Golf Channel.
