4th Annual St James Beanbag Toss Tourney a Huge Success

Erie, PA, August 08, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The fourth annual Saint James R. C. Church Festival Beanbag Toss tournament was held Sunday August 4 at St. James School in Wesleyville. Showcasing a field of 26 teams comprised of 52 competitors, each team played a four-game round-robin for seeding purposes followed by a single-elimination bracketed tournament. Proceeds from the event benefit St. James Church and School.

A crowd nearing 100 spectators saw Erie resident Andy Maleski and Pittsburgh resident Ryan Smith take top honors for the second consecutive year, besting Saint James School alumni Ben Ladaika and Jake Van Slyke. Winners received a $100 cash prize and a pair of championship beanbag toss boards.

The tournament is organized by Side Project Inc., a nonprofit corporation dedicated to supporting charitable and philanthropic efforts large and small. The Bean Bag Toss tournament has been overseen by Erie native and St. James alum Dan Fromknecht since its inception. Dan is a member of the Side Project Inc Board of Directors. Side Project Inc was founded by its President and CEO, Jeff Fromknecht, an Erie native, to provide legal and professional services to socially-minded people and organizations.
