)-- Slippery Rock University, one of the largest coeducational institutions in western Pennsylvania, is inviting incoming college freshmen to visit its campus this coming fall. The university will hold a whole-day Summer Preview on August 16, providing a walking tour around the campus. Students will also be given the option to tour the university’s traditional style residence hall and attend a pre-professional session with the university’s representatives. Slippery Rock will hold its Academic and Student Services Resources fair to provide information and answer students’ questions about its academic departments.
Registration starts at 9:15 AM in the lobby area of the Robert M. Smith Student Center, followed by the welcoming of students in the ballroom area. Incoming freshmen can then get to know the school better at the Academic and Student Services Resources presentation that will start at 10:30. The campus tour will start at 11:30 AM, with the attendees being divided into two groups to alternate with the campus tour and lunch in Boozel Dining Hall. After the tours, students can attend the optional tour of the residence hall and the pre-professional session with the university’s representatives.
Slippery Rock organizes fall visits not just to encourage prospective students to enroll in the upcoming academic year, but also to help students plan their college life and get professional and academic advice. Slippery Rock is looking forward to welcoming this year’s incoming freshman, andits students, faculty members, and representatives from different academic departments and support offices will be participating in the event.Students who attend can take part in an array of fun activities and helpful presentations.
Registration for the Summer Preview is already ongoing through Slippery Rock’s website. Students need only to submit the required information. The university is allowing students to bring guests, which they can indicate on the registration form as well.
