Cohesion Concludes Two-Year Research Study; Confirms Need for New Type of Marketing Agency

St. Louis, MO, September 06, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Cohesion, a St. Louis-based marketing and communications agency, has concluded a 24-month field study of mid-sized and large organizations, including many in the Fortune 1000, according to Brian Creath, Managing Principal of Cohesion.

"We spoke with nearly 500 CEOs, CMOs and other senior executives charged with making or influencing marketing decisions," said Creath. "What they told us does not bode well for traditional advertising agencies and marketing communications firms."

The agency's report, entitled, “A Call for Positioning, Rethinking the Marketing Communications Model,” highlights several major findings, including:

• Organizations aren’t getting the strategic support they need. 77% of decision makers are dissatisfied with the strategic capabilities of their agencies and marketing firms.

• Marketing communications aren’t telling the whole story. 48% say there is a weak link, at best, between strategic direction and tactical creative execution.

• Decision makers are frustrated and want a new solution. These executives are interested in a new and different approach for making marketing communications more effective, whether the issue is as complex as a new vision for an organization, or as relatively simple as a new product, updated service or new marketing idea.
