SMC Corp. Listed on Forbes 100 Most Innovative Companies for the Third Time

SMC Corporation was again recognized by Forbes magazine as one of the Top 100 World’s Most Innovative Companies for three years in a row.

Noblesville, IN, August 17, 2013 --(PR.com)-- SMC joins a globally renowned group of triple inductees such as: Amazon, Fanuc, General Mills and Procter & Gamble to achieve this honorable recognition. Forbes uses a proprietary Innovation Premium methodology that averts popularity contests based on past performance or editorial whims. The method relies on investors’ ability to identify firms they expect to be innovative now and in the future.

Product innovation for industrial automation has always been a top priority for SMC at a global level with the operation of its three pillars of R&D technical facilities located in the U.S., E.U. and Japan.

To qualify for the Forbes list, companies were required to have a minimum $10 billion market capitalization and exceed a certain threshold of R&D spending as a percentage of sales.

SMC has steadily implemented a variety of measures to reinforce its global product supply system such as strategic acquisition and purchases of production facilities and raw materials and continuing capital investments in BRICS and other emerging countries.
