Wine Fundraiser to Support Breast Health Charity The Maurer Foundation

FAT bastard wines will be continuing their dedication to help raise awareness and funds for the breast cancer cause. During the months of September and October, FAT bastard will donate 25 cents for every bottle of FAT bastard sold in restaurants and retail locations, up to $50,000. A recipient of support from the FAT bastard campaign for six years, the Maurer Foundation is dedicated to raising awareness through breast health education.

Long Island, NY, August 18, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Long Island breast cancer non-profit The Maurer Foundation is thankful and delighted to be included in a fundraiser hosted by Fat Bastard wines. The proceeds from this initiative will be distributed among various charities—the Maurer Foundation being one —that share a common dedication to breast health.

For every bottle of wine sold in both stores and restaurants throughout September and October 2013, the wine company will donate 25 cents to benefit breast cancer awareness. This is the eleventh consecutive year that Fat Bastard, which is a subsidiary of Winebow wine distributors, has hosted this successful fundraiser. “Everyone is touched by breast cancer in one way, shape, or form,” stated Winebow President and CEO Jon Moramarco. “And we can all appreciate the importance of this cause.”

Fat Bastard has been a long-time supporter of The Maurer Foundation, having donated to and sponsored a number of events including the Pink Diamond Gala, Flamingo Bowl and Golf Classic. This generosity has gone a long way, playing a part in helping the foundation fund its breast health education programs, which reach thousands of people each year with information that can save lives.

The Maurer Foundation carries out its life-saving mission of informing women about breast health by providing free, valuable presentations to communities, businesses, schools and various other groups. The programs, which focus on topics that are critical in breast cancer prevention and early detection, supply the knowledge and tools that can empower women to protect their health. The foundation’s educators dispel myths and discuss risk factors, precautionary measures and examination information including how to conduct breast self-exams and when to schedule mammograms.

“Learning is a vital part of what we can do until we find a cure for breast cancer,” stated Maurer Foundation Program Director Susan Simon. “Without the help of companies like Fat Bastard, we would not be able to continue to fight for this cause.” The Foundation has reached over 200,000 people through its programs since its founding in 1995.

The Foundation also always appreciates and welcomes those who wish to further support this impactful cause by making a donation.
