Attorneys Holmes and Williamson Awarded Accreditation by the Department of Veterans Affairs

Farr Law Firm attorneys David A. Holmes and George T. Williamson earn accreditation from the Department of Veterans Affairs. They are authorized to handle veterans’ benefits cases before the VA.

Punta Gorda, FL, August 21, 2013 --(PR.com)-- David A. Holmes, managing partner and George T. Williamson recently received accreditation from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Holmes and Williamson can now prepare, present and prosecute veterans' benefit claims, which consist of VA disability, dependency and indemnity compensation, as well as VA pension benefits, including aid and attendance.

To receive accreditation, federal law requires an attorney to complete continuing legal education covering, at a minimum, the following topics: VA representation, disability compensation, dependency and indemnity compensation and pension benefits, claim procedures, eligibility requirements, and appeal rights. An attorney must also establish that he or she is of good character and reputation.

A native of Port Charlotte, Holmes holds his Juris Doctorate degree, with honors, from Stetson University College of Law in 1993 and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Florida. Holmes practices law in the areas of asset protection, civil litigation, commercial and construction disputes, corporate and business law and real estate. He is certified as a circuit court mediator by the Florida Supreme Court.

Williamson received his Juris Doctor degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law and his Bachelor of Music, cum laude, in Music Business and Entertainment Industries from the University of Miami. Williamson is developing his practice in the areas of general civil, commercial and complex litigation as well as mass tort litigation.
