Deems May Hosts Financial Discussion at Quail Hollow Club
Charlotte, NC, August 24, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Deems May of Solamere Advisors hosts a discussion among financial experts in June. Panelists Joseph Becker, Sr. Product Strategist for Invesco PowerShares Capital Management, John Tousley, Managing Director & Sr. Strategist for Goldman Sachs Asset Management and Stephen Wilson, Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer for Solamere Advisors in Charlotte, NC filled the room with a captivated audience at Quail Hollow Club. The panel discussion centered around today’s markets and how to manage the risks.
The panelists were all fairly optimistic about the outlook for the economy and the equity markets, though Wilson of Solamere Advisors indicated that investors should exercise caution with their bond portfolios. “We may be at the tail end of a thirty year bull market in bonds which has created an unfavorable risk-reward scenario,” stated Wilson. Tousley of Goldman Sachs was the most bullish of the three panelists as he emphasized his view that the positive momentum in the housing market coupled with the improvement in the unemployment data, and the resurgence of domestic energy production will continue to drive economic improvement. Tousley also added that “a backslide into another recession is not anticipated.” Becker from Invesco added to the discussion by suggesting that “a small increase in interest rates may be a sign that the outlook for economic growth is improving.” Although also optimistic about the economy and equity markets, Wilson urged the crowd to “remain cautious” and “stay balanced” in their outlook and “remain disciplined about risk management” with their investment portfolios.
