Saint Baba Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan Flagged 3rd Consignment of Relief Material for Uttarakhand Disaster Victims

In the wake of Uttarakhand floods 2013, Dera Sacha Sauda, Sirsa Haryana has been a constant support for the relief and rehabilitation of victims.

Sirsa, India, September 05, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Dera Sacha Sauda, involved deeply in human welfare activities, flagged off the third consignment of relief material for those affected by natural disasters that hit Uttarakhand in June. The trucks were flagged off from here by the Revered Saint Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan (also known as Baba Ram Rahim Ji, Baba Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji). As relief material, the seven trucks were loaded with fodder for animals in the affected areas. The fodder would be distributed in the Laksar and Khanpur areas of the Haridwar district in Uttarakhand.

It is pertinent to mention that earlier, at least 7 trucks loaded with animal fodder were sent by Dera Sacha Sauda to Khanpur, on June 21, following reports that the animals are starving in the area due to large scale landslides destroying fodder and stranding animals. On July 9, another consignment of 33 canters was flagged off by Guruji, comprising of independent kits of the daily need for households. A team of 15 doctors had also been sent by the Dera to Guptkashi in Uttarakhand. The rescue teams distributed ration to at least 10,000 households and the team of doctors examined about 2500 people and distributed free medicines.

The trucks with animal fodder were flagged off on Tuesday evening. Speaking at the time of sending the consignment, Saint Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan said that the ferocity of natural disasters is a result of undue and excessive human interference with nature. “If we respect nature and work in tandem then even nature supports and nourishes but it has turned destructive due to callousness shown by man. We are sending an animal fodder as relief material since there have been lots of reports that cows and other cattle is dying of starvation in the affected areas. Things have not much improved in these places,” Guruji said.

Members of the Shah Satnam Ji Green S Welfare Force Wing will also accompany the relief material in the impacted areas and distribute it to the needy. “We are roping in the local people to ensure the best possible use of the relief material. Also assessment teams have already been dispatched which are taking stock of the ground situation. If there are houses to be built then we will help with reconstruction. We will send more relief material to the area,” His Holiness said.

Speaking about the welfare activities being undertaken by the Dera, Guruji said that the number of such activities undertaken in various areas has increased to 100. “Three more welfare activities have been added to our list and for this we will be generating awareness and asking volunteers to sign up. We want to generate awareness about the need to check eve teasing and instances of immoral and vulgar behavior. Another welfare activity we have incorporated is that of marrying off young handicapped men to women volunteering to tie the knot. The final activity is added to give more respect and love to the elderly in the families who are finding themselves increasingly neglected and uncared for,” said Guruji.

This is not the first time that the volunteers of Shah Satnam Ji Green S Welfare Force Wing have come forward to help people in times of natural disaster. Apart from participating in rescue operations in Uttarakhand, the volunteers rendered help during the time of the earthquake in Gujarat, snow storms in Kashmir, drought in Rajasthan, tsunami in Andaman and Nicobar islands, building collapses in New Delhi, Punjab and Haryana.
