Senator Bill Perkins Hosts Press Conference for the African Day Parade and Festival

Senator Bill Perkins and the African Day Parade and Festival committee invites the community for a press conference announcing the 7th Annual African Day Parade and Festival.

New York, NY, September 10, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Please join the African Day Parade & Festival Committee along with community leaders and members, artists and performers for a press conference launching the 7th Annual African Day Parade and Festival. This year’s parade will highlight great African leaders from Africa and the Diaspora and focus on African communities, unity and progress. The event themed “Our Communities. Our progress. Our Unity.” will be in commemoration of the African Union’s 50thanniversary celebrating the continent of Africa and people of African descent. This years parade and festival will also commemorate the great African leaders such as Kwame Nkrumah, Nelson Mandela, Marcus Garvey, Martin Luther King jr. and Patrice Lumumba.

The press conference will feature special sample performances by the multi-talented Congolese Artist/Musician “Isaac Katalay,” Master Drummer/Dancer “Sidiki Conde” and Rwandan Goodwill Ambassador and Folk Dancer “Marie Claudine.”
