Toronto, Canada, September 12, 2013 --(PR.com
)-- On Sunday September 8th 2013 Shaping Her Esteem (SHE), a Toronto based not-for-profit dedicated to increasing the health and wellbeing of young women, hosted a free fitness SHE Mob at Yonge-Dundas Square. With numerous industry professionals at the helm the SHE Mob led community members and delighted bystanders through a two-hour zumba, tabata and yoga themed workout complete with a StronGirls warm up and cool down.
The SHE Mob aspired to bring the community together for a fun and active workout in support of the participation of young women in physical activities. This unprecedented event exposed participants to a wide variety of fun ways to keep active and extended SHE’s reach in the local community.
SHE has established a solid support network for young women in the Toronto area and promotes physical activity as a means of enhancing physical, mental and emotional well-being. The organization delivers invaluable knowledge from industry professionals through regular blog updates, provides daily motivation and offers free StronGirls fitness classes on a weekly basis. With greater support and awareness SHE aims to expand its network of free community services and host more exciting public events in the future.
"The SHE Mob was a big success with over a hundred people in the square of all ages either participating in the various fitness activities or watching from the sidelines,” says Laura Sanhueza-Miller, Founder and Executive Director, Shaping Her Esteem. “It felt good to see community members lead by example and actively demonstrate how important it is to get our youth, specifically young girls, physically active!"
