Boston Limited, now in its 19th year as distribution partner for Super Micro Computer (NASDAQ: SMCI), is proud to unveil its latest range of high performance server, storage and workstation solutions based on Intel®’s next generation Xeon® E5-2600 V2 processor family, codenamed Ivy Bridge-EP.

St Albans, United Kingdom, September 13, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Boston Limited, now in its 19th year as distribution partner for Super Micro Computer (NASDAQ: SMCI), is proud to unveil its latest range of high performance server, storage and workstation solutions based on Intel®’s next generation Xeon® E5-2600 V2 processor family, codenamed Ivy Bridge-EP.

The new CPU’s enable significant performance improvements over the previous generation through a higher core count (from 8 cores to 12 cores) and faster memory bus (from 1600MHz to 1866MHz). The Xeon® E5-2600 V2 processor is a die-shrink of existing microarchitecture built on Intel’s advanced 22nm Tri-gate manufacturing process, supporting Intel® OS Guard, Intel® Secure Key, and Advanced Programmable Interrupt Controller Virtualization (APICv).

GPU Accelerated High Performance Workstations
Boston is launching a range of high performance workstations based on the next generation of Intel Xeon E5-2600 series CPUs. These systems boast support for the latest Kepler-based GPUs by NVIDIA® in addition to the 12 core Intel CPUs, making them perfect for computationally intensive tasks such as CAD, CAM and scientific research. The Boston Venom 2401-7T, based on NVIDIA®’s Maximus™ technology, combines the visualisation and interactive design capability of NVIDIA Quadro® GPUs and the high-performance computing power of the NVIDIA Tesla® K20 GPUs into a single workstation. Enhanced further by innovative liquid cooling technology, the Boston Venom 2401-7T is able to run faster, quieter and more efficiently than many of today’s professional workstations.

Datacentre Optimised Servers
Boston’s latest datacentre optimised range features two Intel E5-2600 V2 processors and up to 512GB DDR3 ECC registered 1866Mhz memory. The Boston VS 361 G8 model incorporates Supermicro’s Battery Backup Power (BBP®) technology to ensure uptime in the event of AC power loss, and eliminates the need for an expensive UPS. The Boston VS 362 G8 supports up to 1TB of ECC DDR3 LRDIMM, features 2 x PCI-E x 16 slots and Gold Level Certified Redundant Power Supplies.
