Michael Clark, Calligrapher, Typographer, Author, Editor and Graphic Artist, to Speak at Lettersong Gallery October 9th

Lettersong Gallery will be the site of a two day workshop with noted instructor Michael Clark of the Washington DC area. The workshop on October 10 and 11, 2013 is full, but there will be a talk on Wednesday night, October 9th, free to the public.

Louisville, KY, September 20, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Noted calligrapher, typographer, author, editor and graphic artist Michael Clark, of a Virginia suburb of Washington DC will speak at Lettersong Gallery, 1501 Story Avenue, Louisville KY on October 9th.

Lettersong is a new addition to the Louisville arts scene, and is already making an impact by hosting world class instructors. Recently master bookbinder Bonnie Stahlecker taught a Byzantine Book Binding workshop, and October will see Clark and Jacqueline Sullivan, both well known in calligraphic circles.

Clark will teach logo design, refining letterforms, ruling pen and unusual tools as well as how to take calligraphy from simple uses like lettering a poem to a more refined professional level. Calligraphers Jan Hurst, Mary Lou Sherman, Jen Grove (owner of Lettersong) and Diana Hutchison arranged for Clark to come to Louisville, and the workshop filled quickly. His talk, at 7:30PM at the gallery, is free and open to the public. For more information about this workshop or talk, please contact Jan Hurst via her website www.LouisvilleCalligraphy.com or (502) 619-4212.
