Brooklyn Industries Repurposes ArtBridge’s Billboard Art Installation Into Limited Edition Messenger Bags

Collection to be unveiled during DUMBO Arts Festival.

New York, NY, September 21, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Brooklyn Industries has teamed up with the nonprofit arts organization ArtBridge to release the Chromoapost Messenger Bag, a special edition bag made out of billboard material from NYC visual artist Aleksandar Maćašev’s outdoor installation, Chromapost. The piece began as a nano-blogging project, with each post serving as a visual compression of his daily moods, feelings and experiences into one piece of information: a single color.

In 2011, ArtBridge, the non-profit organization known for creating billboard-sized art exhibitions on sites under construction, produced an installation of more than 1,400-square feet on Water Street in DUMBO, Brooklyn, showcasing two years of Maćašev's Chromaposts. At the end of the installation’s run, ArtBridge gave the large scale artpiece to Brooklyn Industries to fashion into individual messenger bags, similar to the company’s original product release – the Crypto Billboard Messenger Bag.

Each, uniquely cut bag is a slice of the artist’s emotional diary, and comes with a signed poster by the artist of the particular colors featured in that bag.

The bags will be unveiled during an art event at the Brooklyn Industries DUMBO location during the DUMBO Arts Festival on Saturday, September 28th from 2-5pm.
