)-- The League of Adventurous Women launches an exciting new web site today. Visitors to www.LeagueofAdventurousWomen.org will discover a unique, easy-to-use site to help them leave their comfort zones and live their dreams.
“The League of Adventurous Women is a non-profit network of women’s adventure groups from around the country,” said League President Michaelle Scanlon. “The idea is to help all women expand their horizons by making it easy to try something new or challenging. There are a lot of independent groups out there but we believe, The League of Adventurous Women is the first organization to bring them all together.”
A woman can use The League’s new site to find a group in her area or to get tips on starting a group of her own. Organizations find benefits as well. “Connecting with a national adventure network helps new members to find your group,” said Barb Carey, founder of Wisconsin Women Fish. “It boosts a group’s exposure in the community and helps the group collaborate with organizations across the country.” Added Lori Iturrioz, founder of a New York-based group called Bucket List Babes, “A group’s leaders can learn from the experiences of more established organizations and can serve as a model for newly formed groups.”
The League of Adventurous Women includes groups focused on a single activity like fishing, sailing or cycling as well as “bucket-list” organizations that offer a wide variety of opportunities. The League doesn’t cater to women of a particular age, income level or ability, The League helps all women leave their comfort zones, break their routines and pursue their dreams.
