)-- Henderson, Franklin, Starnes & Holt, P.A. is pleased to announce that at the 2013 Horizon Council Industry Awards Luncheon held on September 20, Attorney Russell Schropp was awarded the "Volunteer of the Year Award, Southwest Region" by the Florida Economic Development Council. Schropp has served as Chair of the Horizon Council's Business Issues Task Force since 2011. The task force is responsible for reviewing issues of significance to business interests in Lee County and making recommendations to the Horizon Council which ultimately provides advice to the Lee County Commission.
Schropp is Chair of the firm's Land Use & Environmental Law practice group and represents property owners and others before local, regional, state and federal agencies. He also writes the Judicial Update column for the firm’s Legal Scoop on Southwest Florida Real Estate blog. Schropp joined Henderson Franklin in 1984 and also serves on the firm’s Executive Committee.
Schropp is AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell and has been honored by Florida Super Lawyers ® magazine (2007–2013), by Best Lawyers in America® (2011-2013), Florida Trend magazine's Legal Elite, noting his work in land use and zoning law.
