Launch of Wedding Lawyer Firm in Los Angeles, CA

Christie Asselin, Esq., a PC, Wedding Lawyer, announces the launch of a practice area devoted to legal issues that arise before, during and after a couple’s wedding day.

Santa Monica, CA, October 09, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Christie Asselin, Esq., a PC, Wedding Lawyer, announces the launch of a practice area devoted solely to legal issues that arise before, during and after a couple’s wedding day.

“You would never purchase a new car without insurance. But there is something with weddings that guide people away from the instinct to protect themselves. You’re paying $10 per bottle of water and spending upwards of $30,000 on average for a wedding. Having a Wedding Lawyer review some or all of your contracts seems reasonable to me!”

Consumer fraud, stiff cancellation clauses as well as vendors not performing as required are often culprits. Ms. Asselin shared “I hear wedding photographer horror stories all the time. After the day of the wedding, all the couple has left are those memories and their photos. Unfortunately, unless you are strategic about negotiating with your photographer, you could be waiting a long, long time to get your photos.”

Ms. Asselin was inspired to start this practice niche, in part, by a big wedding snafu that happened during her best friend’s wedding. An hour before the bride walked down the aisle, the zipper broke on her couture gown, and it splayed wide open. The bride spent the minutes before saying “I do” frazzled and stressed. “We literally had to sew her into the dress. The wedding started late and my poor best friend missed out on photos with her bridal party. I wrote a demand letter and guided the bride through the small claims process. She recouped most of the funds she spent on the dress. That happened 4 years ago. It’s funny that it has taken me so long to start a practice devoted just to these issues! I think the timing is just right.”

Ms. Asselin stated: “I want this practice area to educate and empower consumers. A lot of these legal issues are avoidable. I can help a couple to protect themselves before any problems occur. I’m also there if problems do happen. I am a bit like the bridesmaid or pushy mother you always wanted. And, I’m armed with a law degree!”

As a Wedding Lawyer, Ms. Asselin can prevent, remedy and mitigate issues arising from the failure of a vendor to perform its contractual duties, canceled weddings, wedding insurance claims, and anything else that might arise in connection with a couple’s wedding. She is also available to assist the bride or groom with post-nuptial name changes.
