Sponsorship Seminar Teaches Speakers How to Partner with the Small Business Community

In today's economy, many speakers are finding that conference and meeting budgets have been cut. But there is a way speakers can still get paid for their valuable time...sponsorship. Speaker Sponsorship 101 teaches the inside tricks to getting paid as a professional speaker.

San Diego, CA, October 08, 2013 --(PR.com)-- In a rough economy, innovation is vital, and forming partnerships sometimes becomes a necessity. This is what innovation keynote speaker and CEO of Speaker Sponsor, Julie Austin, found out as she saw the number of paid speaking jobs dwindle during the Great Recession.

“I was making hundreds of cold calls, only to hear, more often than not, that meeting planners weren’t paying speakers,” Julie says. “That’s when I remembered a job I had years ago in New York City as the sponsorship director on a TV pilot. I literally went door to door getting small businesses from the neighborhood to sponsor this TV show. It worked so well, I wondered if it might also work in the speaking arena. So, I just took the non-paid speaking job and got my own sponsors.”

This is when Julie came up with the idea for “Speaker Sponsorship 101 – How to Make Six Figures a Year as a Speaker...Using Other People’s Money,” a live seminar that teaches speakers how to partner with the small business community to form marketing partnerships that benefit both. She combined her speaking experience and her job as a sponsorship director to create a simple formula for speakers to follow that promotes the small business sponsor, and allows the speaker to make a great living.

The half day event will be kicked off by Ugg Boots Founder and speaker, Brian Smith. Brian’s iconic Ugg brand started off as a small business, and Brian is well aware of the struggles small businesses face. “To compete against the big guys, you have to be different,” says Brian.

The seminar will end with a panel discussion of industry experts on how to find speaking jobs. Whether you’re a seasoned speaker, a beginning speaker, author, expert or business coach, this seminar will change the way you think about the speaking industry, and show you ways to make a six figure salary from public speaking, regardless of the economy.
