Singer from Northern Ireland Backed by Dublin Band

Northern and Southern Ireland represented in child poverty coalition

Kitchener, Ont, Canada, September 14, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Irish singer/songwriter Colm Heaney from Warrenpoint, County Down, and his band, The Bad DJ's, all from Dublin, are part of an international coalition fighting against the insanity of extreme child poverty. Heaney, along with fifteen other artists from ten countries, contributed a music video to the new Worldview website www.worldview.ca . In addition to allowing the use of their video “Tonight”, Heaney and members of the band recorded their thoughts on child sponsorship... “We hope that you'll consider sponsoring a child. Please do what you can to end extreme child poverty.”

A review in the Pittsburgh Tribune describes Heaney's rock/acoustic sound as “... intricate guitar picking and a smoky, moody voice that brings to mind a young Mark Knopfler...” The soon to be released new album “10 Foot Tall” will feature Heaney along with Graham Dunne, Ray Fagan and Gavin McCaffrey.

For more information about Colm Heaney, and to hear sample tracks from the upcoming album, go to www.colmheaney.com or www.myspace.com/colmheaney.

Worldview is an international volunteer movement based in Canada that teaches how child sponsorship works and encourages support of the world's four major child sponsorship organizations – Christian Children's Fund, Compassion, Plan and World Vision. It is not a charity and it doesn't accept donations.
