The video, about Online Marketing and Public Relations, tells the story of social media using the World Trade Centre network in Dublin, Boston and Washington. The video compliments the Academy’s new online course which teaches participants about Facebook, Twitter, Google+ etc. The new Academy course about social media begins on October 17th.

New York, NY, October 12, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The Irish Academy of Public Relations has launched a new video which explains how to use online marketing and PR techniques for any business. The video is free to view on YouTube http://youtu.be/qTAseYWVwBU. It coincides with the launch of their new Certificate in Online Marketing & PR course.

The video uses the World Trade Centre network in Dublin, Boston and Washington to explain the how online marketing and public relations works.

“People understand the need to promote their business, charity or sports club online, but they often don’t know the best way to go about it,” said Ellen Gunning, director of the Irish Academy of Public Relations. “Our Online Marketing & PR course (http://www.irishacademy.com/us/online-courses/pr-marketing-courses/course-intro) gives participants the practical know-how,” she added.

The course, like the video, covers Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Linked-In, Google+, blogging, podcasting, social bookmarking and more. For each module the student may either choose to answer questions about the topic, or they can create a page on the relevant social media platform and get expert feedback on what they have done.

“Every organisation needs to know how to use social media to promote themselves. It is not the communications tool of the future – it is here, now. If you are not using both social and traditional media to get your message to the public, then you have already been left behind,” said Ellen Gunning.

“The Academy’s course is tutored by social media experts who share practical advice and valuable insights with students worldwide. We all use a range of platforms to find and share information. Businesses need to know how to use those platforms effectively so that they can engage with potential customers,” she added.

The Academy has offices in New York, Dublin (Ireland) and London (England). Students are based in 27 countries around the world. They are tutored by a panel of experts based in 11 countries globally.

The Irish Academy of Public Relation’s Certificate in Online Marketing and PR is taught over 20 weeks and is tutored by social media experts. The next course begins online on 17 October 2013. Further details from Toll-Free 855.2780.802 or online at www.irishacademy.com/us
