Local Mortgage Company Partners with Community for Halloween Benefit Event
With the Halloween season in full swing, Cherry Creek Mortgage in The Woodlands is partnering with businesses in the community for Halloween For A. Heart, a benefit event for Anna King.
The Woodlands, TX, October 12, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Anna King was just like any other spunky 12 year old; athletic, full of energy, and full of laughter. In April of 2012, after a doctor ordered a chest x-ray for what was thought to be pneumonia, Anna was diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy. In other words, Anna needs a new heart.
Cherry Creek Mortgage in The Woodlands, TX, is partnering with businesses in the community to give Anna a Halloween to remember through Halloween For A. Heart. Through this community based event, Cherry Creek Mortgage is aimed at raising funds for Anna and her family.
“We want to help out in any way we can, and Halloween offered the perfect opportunity to host a family-focused event and raise money for a very deserving girl,” says Jason Higham, Branch Manager at Cherry Creek Mortgage in The Woodlands.
Jason Higham and his family also have a personal connection to Anna and her family. Anna was a student of Leila Higham, Jason’s wife, the year she was diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy.
“It is great that we are in a position to host an event like this, especially when Anna means so much to us personally.”
People are encouraged to come out to the Cherry Creek Mortgage office, located in Suite 6310 in Market Street of The Woodlands. The event will take place on Thursday, October 31st from 3:00pm to 6:00pm.
Some of the events will include a costume contest, complete with cash prizes, as well as trick-or-treating within the office and a silent auction. The community, family and friends alike are welcome to come out for goodies for the whole family, as well as to support Anna in her fight for a new heart.
Companies and organizations are encouraged to get involved as well. The silent auction offers a great opportunity to donate baskets, gift cards, food or decorations for the event in the form of sponsorship. The event aims to offer the community a fun Halloween event, while providing Anna and her family with the funds they need.
