Eden Autism Services Announces $500,000 Challenge Grant

Eden is pleased to announce that 15 Eden families and two Eden friends have joined together in support of the capital campaign by committing $500,000 in the form of a challenge grant, to conclude on March 31, 2014. Every new campaign dollar will be matched by this generous group of Eden families and friends.

Princeton, NJ, October 18, 2013 --(PR.com)-- In 2009, Eden Autism Services embarked on its first major capital campaign Nurturing Today, Embracing Tomorrow with a goal to raise $7 million to build its new Education and Outreach Center and strengthen Eden’s endowment with a focus on adult services. Currently, the organization has raised $5.8 million and anticipates wrapping up the campaign by December 2014. To help achieve its goal, Eden is pleased to announce that 15 Eden families and two Eden friends have joined together in support of the capital campaign by committing $500,000 in the form of a challenge grant, to conclude on March 31, 2014. Every new campaign dollar will be matched by this generous group of Eden families and friends.

“Our Eden families and community at large have been so very generous over the past 4 years. We have raised nearly $6 million in what is for Eden its first significant capital campaign. We are grateful to have such dedicated supporters who have eagerly agreed to take on this challenge to help us realize our dream,” says Melinda Gorny McAleer, Eden’s Chief Development Officer.

“As Eden’s board chair I am energized and inspired by the response of our community. As an Eden mom, I am eternally grateful to the parents, family members, neighbors, foundations, corporations, and local businesses that have contributed to our success to date and wish I could thank you all personally,” adds Marie Gary, Chair of the Eden Board of Trustees and mother to a nineteen year-old Eden student.

Since launching the campaign, Eden has opened its model Education and Outreach Center in the Princeton Forrestal Village and has added to the endowment fund with a focus on adult services. Eden’s adult programs include a day employment program as well as residential services. Unfortunately, there is a significant gap between state funding and the actual costs to maintain Eden’s commitment of quality services to its adults with autism. For this reason it is crucial that Eden strengthens its endowment fund.
