Career Step to Exhibit at AHIMA Convention October 27-30

Career Step will be launching its new ICD-10 Physician Education and Training program at the 85th Annual AHIMA Convention and Exhibit October 27-30 in booth 1509.

Provo, UT, October 23, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Career Step, an online provider of career-focused education and corporate training, will be attending and exhibiting at the 85th Annual Convention and Exhibit of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) in Atlanta, Georgia, October 27 through the 30 in booth 1509. Career Step will be launching its new ICD-10 Physician Education and Training program at the show.

“We are very excited about the opportunity AHIMA provides to talk with HIM professionals about our ICD-10 Physician Education and Training program,” said Mike Hodgson, Career Step Executive Vice President of Healthcare Products and Partnerships. “ICD-10 is one of the major areas of focus within healthcare right now. Our ICD-10 coder education has already been chosen by some of the largest and most respected institutions in the industry, and we have built on that foundation to develop this new training. Physician education and training is another important step in an effective ICD-10 implementation plan, and our program will help ensure physicians have the information needed to avoid work process and cash flow disruptions.”

In addition to its new physician training, Career Step will have information on all of its educational offerings including its Professional Medical Coding and Billing course, which prepares students new to healthcare for entry-level careers in medical coding. To meet the healthcare industry’s concerns about ICD-10 preparations, Career Step’s primary focus at the show will be on its The ICD-10 Solution offering, which has been developed in conjunction with the experts from YES HIM Consulting, Inc. and includes the new Physician Education and Training program.

The Career Step Physician Education and Training program is designed to help physicians prepare for the ICD-10 transition by presenting them with an overview of the scope of changes ICD-10 will require them to make in their documentation in order to optimize work processes, patient care, and cash flow during and after October 1, 2014. The curriculum includes over 20 specialty-specific programs, and all of the training is presented in an online modular approach that makes it easy for physicians and physician extenders to access the material anytime and anywhere.

Information on all of the training offerings included in The ICD-10 Solution, including the new Physician Education and Training program, will be available at Career Step's AHIMA exhibit—booth 1509—as well as the AHIMA ICD-10 Refreshment Bar on Monday, October 28, from 2:15 to 3:15 p.m. The ICD-10 Solution is a comprehensive education solution that includes physician education and training, knowledge assessments, biomedical sciences education, ICD-10 code set training, and seminars and workshops.
