Homebrew Supply Store Gives Cheers to Five Years
Southern Brewing & Winemaking celebrates fifth year as Tampa’s largest homebrew supply shop.
Tampa, FL, October 25, 2013 --(PR.com)-- On Saturday, October 26th, Southern Brewing & Winemaking is hosting an all-day-long party to celebrate their fifth anniversary as a homebrew shop.
The homebrew store opened up in 2008 when Brew Shack, the only homebrew store in Tampa at the time, closed and Southern Brewing owners Brian and Kelly Fenstermacher decided to offer a new, expansive retail shop for the home brewers and winemakers of Tampa.
The shop started in a warehouse on Busch Blvd, but moved to a larger, free-standing building in Seminole Heights in early 2012. A few months after moving into the new location, Southern Brewing & Winemaking opened up a small brewery/winery adjacent to the retail shop, making them one of only a dozen shops in the country where customers can drink craft beer and wine while shopping for supplies.
The staff at Southern Brewing & Winemaking has built lasting relationships with many loyal customers over the past five years, and wanted to thank them with a large 5 Year Anniversary celebration.
“Now is the perfect time to celebrate, because we have settled into the new location and it finally feels like home,” stated Brian Fenstermacher. “We couldn’t be having more fun with the shop as we continue to make Southern a destination for craft beer lovers in Tampa and beyond.”
During the celebration, there will be local homebrew clubs giving extract and all grain brewing demonstrations in the biergarten. Guests are encouraged to ask questions, help brew, and learn more about the various homebrew clubs.
Lawn games will be available in the biergarten, along with a cornhole tournament that offers shop gift certificates as prizes.
There will also be live music from Cuba Luna and Jason Rimmer, as well as food from local food trucks Hott Mess and Thai One On.
The tap room will release special treated beers throughout the day that will be available only during the party.
The first 200 attendees at the celebration will receive a specially designed commemorative beer glass and all attendees will receive a free raffle ticket to win various prizes such as shirts, gift certificates, equipment, and the chance to brew with the Southern Brewers for a day.
