Youfit Raises $4k for the Kids at Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals
Youfit Health Clubs raises $4,007.34 for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals as a Miracle Marathon partner.
Deerfield Beach, FL, November 06, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Youfit Health Clubs, a partner with the Miracle Marathon, raised just over $4,000 for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, benefiting young patients and their families. The final amount is a combination of donations from Youfit members and employees joined with a matching contribution from Youfit Health Clubs. With this contribution, Youfit was listed among the top five donating teams at MiracleMarathon.org.
The Miracle Marathon ran from Oct. 1 to Oct. 27. It encouraged participants to commit to walking or running a mile a day (or exercising an equivalent amount) until Oct. 26 while raising money from supportive family and friends. On Oct. 27, at 2:27 p.m., participants were encouraged to walk an extra mile in their Miracle Marathon “for the kids.”
“Not only did the Miracle Marathon raise money for children at 170 Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals in the U.S. and Canada, it promoted the adoption of an active lifestyle by participants worldwide through online activism,” said Rick Berks, founder and president of Youfit Health Clubs.
Berks said, “Team Youfit was inspired by the Miracle Marathon’s mission and united in support of this amazing cause. We are excited to raise money ‘for the kids.’”
Youfit partnered with the Miracle Marathon fundraising campaign and encouraged employees and members at over 58 club locations in Florida, Georgia, Arizona and California to promote the Miracle Marathon, by joining or donating.
In addition, Youfit hosted “Youfit Miracle Miles,” a nationwide event at all gym locations. The open house event provided a free opportunity for the public to visit any Youfit club, work out, and enjoy contests, games and giveaways on Oct. 27. During the event at 2:27 p.m., each Youfit fitness center held an activity to complete the extra mile in the Miracle Marathon. All final donations were collected at this event.
